Event Details:

The County of Elgin will be undertaking maintenance work on the King George VI Lift Bridge from Wednesday, February 15, 2023, through to Friday, February 17, 2023. As a result, the Lift Bridge will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic for the duration of this maintenance work. The Lift Bridge will reopen to vehicular and pedestrian traffic on Saturday, February 18, 2023.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to utilize the detour highlighted below while travelling to and from Port Stanley during the bridge closure. This approximate 4km detour will re-direct traffic utilizing Carlow Road, Warren Street and Colborne Street.

Businesses will remain open throughout this closure period. The County of Elgin apologizes for any inconvenience that this closure may cause.
